With less than a week to go before Clash at the Castle, Sami Zayn attempted one final time to make things right with the Alpa Academy cadets before going to battle against their leader, Chad Gable, letting them know what he continues to believe in them and wants the best for them, even if their “Master” doesn't feel the same way.

“Maxxine, Tozawa, I was actually kind of hoping that I'd run into you. First of all, are you okay? Is your ankle okay or are you okay? Okay look, I just wanted to say I'm sorry that you have have been caught in the middle of this and everything you guys are going through. I'm sorry. Did you guys see the footage back? What happened? Okay look, I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I just want to remind you you know you don't need to take this right?” Sami Zayn said as Otis appeared.

“Right, I guess there's not much left to say here right? I'll see you in the ring tonight.”

Before Zayn could exit, his opponent for the evening asked him to stop, as he wanted to explain his actions.

“Look, Otis, man, hang on; you don't have to explain,” Zayn declared. “Okay look, I'm sympathetic towards everything you're going through this stuff with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline; the thing is, I understood my reasons. But for the life of me, I can't understand why you keep up with Chad Gable after everything he puts you through week-in and week-out.”

“Well, Sami, at one time, I had it all, a different time, I lost it all; my Money in the Bank briefcase, my Peach, my big brother Tucky, I lost them all,” Otis recalled. “Chad Gable was there, that's my family. My sister Maxxine, my brother Tozawa, that's my family. Without Chad Gable, I'm nothing.”

Zayn, noticing the sadness in Otis' delivery, igonred the references to Mandy Rose and Tucker and opted to instead gas him up one final time, letting him know that he needs to believe in himself like the WWE Universe believes in him too.

“Otis, that's what I have a problem with, that's not true!” Zayn declared. “That's what he wants you to think; you are not nothing! Those are his words, do you understand that? Do you know how special you are? Do you know how special you could be? I really hope that one of these days, you can see it for yourself.”

Will Otis and the rest of the Apha Academy finally turn on Gable at the end of Clash at the Castle, splitting from the heel in order to pursue success as a singles star once more? Or will Otis instead remain in the Alpha Academy and leave Sami laid out in Glasgow on the way to a big win by the “Master?” Well, considering Gable's contract situation, it's safe to say if he pulls out the win, it'll likely signify that this story is far from over.

Dave Meltzer believes an IC Title win could be in Chad Gable's future.

Speaking of Chad Gable's future in the WWE Universe, Dave Meltzer explained on his Wrestling Observer Radio that the “Master” could use his free agency status as leverage to get an Intercontinental Championship win at Clash at the Castle, as he really does have a unique opportunity to throw his weight around in the name of career advancement.

“I could see Gable winning, it would have to be tied to negotiations. I don't see them putting the title on Gable with his contract expiring. And his contract is expiring and he hasn't signed a new deal,” Dave Meltzer explained on WOR via WrestleTalk. “That's a good pressure, you know because we're giving you the biggest push of your career, which they are right now. Obviously they don't want him to leave, and he's doing really great. So I think… there's a good chance that may be the determining factor if he signs or doesn't sign. They got both ways they could go. I would put the odds relatively small of the idea that he would leave.”

Welp, there you go, folks; if Gable is able to put Zayn through the paces, overcome the odds, and leave Scotland with the Intercontinental Championship, it likely means two things: 1. that Gable isn't leaving WWE any time soon for AEW or any other promotion and 2. that he used his free agency status to push WWE for an even bigger push moving forward which frankly sounds pretty good, considering how strong his current heel push has proven to be on RAW weekly.
