Remember when Yankees fans were upset because New York failed to land Matt Olson or Freddie Freeman over the offseason? Or when they felt underwhelmed when the team decided to roll with Anthony Rizzo as their starting first baseman this season? Well, Yankees fans probably can't even remember those negative feelings anymore after the performance Anthony Rizzo had on Tuesday night.

Rizzo placed his name in the record books, as he became the second oldest player in Yankees history to record his first 3 home run game during the regular season at 32 year and 261 days old. The only older player happened to be Babe Ruth, who was 35.

Rizzo shared his reaction to his 3 home run performance.

“I was just shocked. I’ve never hit three homers in a game. It was a cool way for it to come back and be fair. I thought there was a 0% chance that it would be fair.”

He now holds the MLB lead for homers with 8. There is no question that he has silenced the doubters with his start to the 2022 campaign.

One of the most interesting takeaways from Rizzo's incredible game stemmed from a video from Jomboy Media on Youtube. In the video, Jomboy AKA Jimmy O'Brien, is doing one of his famous breakdowns. He points out an adjustment that Rizzo made during his first at-bat.

Rizzo stated after his first home run that he moved up about “half a foot” in the batter's box to counter the pitchers change-up which was breaking out of the zone. He wanted to hit the pitch before it broke away.

I  highly recommend checking out the above-posted video to fully understand the adjustment Rizzo made. It speaks to how intelligent of a hitter he truly is.

Anthony Rizzo is having a career resurgence at 32 years old and the Yankees have now won four games in a row. Things are good in the Bronx right now.
