As the Dallas Mavericks look to create salary cap flexibility ahead of the 2022 NBA offseason, Jalen Brunson is one name that has recently come up in trade rumors. With Brunson's recent run of success, he'd certainly be a high quality addition for any team that's in need of depth at the point guard spot.

Whether he's starting or coming off the bench, Brunson's had a highly productive tenure in Dallas and the Mavs have definitely benefitted from his stellar play. With all this in the fold, let's now discuss the three best trade destinations for Brunson ahead of the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline.

Jalen Brunson Trade Destinations

Jalen Brunson Knicks

With Kemba Walker out of the rotation and Derrick Rose out with an ankle injury, Brunson could come right in and have an immediate impact for the Knicks. It goes without saying that Brunson has been vital to the Mavs' success this season and as a well-rounded floor general he'd thrive in New York under the guidance of world-class head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Brunson would also be able to elevate their play and form strong on-court chemistry with RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, Cam Reddish, Mitchell Robinson, and Evan Fournier while continuing to progress as a starting point guard in the NBA. As a team in dire need of a boost in their backcourt, the addition of Jalen Brunson would do wonders for the Knicks.

Jalen Brunson Pistons

Between future NBA superstar Cade Cunningham, the continued strides and improvements of Saddiq Bey, a promising young center in Luka Garza, and ton of upside in Isaiah Stewart, the addition of Brunson would add to the Pistons youth movement and give them an exciting young core to work with.

With head coach Dwyane Casey at the helm, Detroit would be able to build their long-desired contender of the future. Not to mention the Pistons would have a limitless amount of scoring, athleticism, and defensive tenacity at their disposal and these would be just the qualities they'd need to get back into playoff contention while building something special in The Motor City.

Jalen Brunson Hawks

Outside of Trae Young and Lou Williams, the Atlanta Hawks don't really possess any other true point guards with a strong playmaking ability. Bogdan Bogdanovic is able to contribute some, but he's more effective when plays shooting guard or small forward. Adding Brunson to their rotation would give them another reliable ball handler that could run their offense with ease while lessening Young's load on the offensive end.

Brunson has also become a prolific scorer that can knock down some big shots with the game on the line. This would be crucial for the Hawks during crunch time scenarios when Young starts to see more double teams. When it comes to late-game situations and coming through in the clutch, Atlanta would be able to rely on Brunson.

The addition of Brunson would greatly boost their backcourt while adding quality depth at the point guard spot for them. If they want to get out of their current rut and shake things up, then trading for an established veteran guard with a ton of upside to his game like Brunson is a move they should strongly consider.
