The New York Giants had to make a much-needed move at wide receiver after trading Odell Beckham Jr., and they were able to sign this season's top pass-catching free agent prior to the 2019 NFL season. The Giants were able to sign veteran receiver Golden Tate to a four-year deal worth $37.5 million, and he could salvage the Giants poor receiving corps in 2019.

Tate has been the epitome of reliability and has had a clean bill of health dating back t0 2012 where he missed one game. The Giants are getting a solid receiver that should help their offense next season and take some pressure off quarterback Eli Manning. Tate could have himself quite a year as he finds himself on a Giant's roster in desperate need of a playmaker.

Tate Will Have 1,000 Receiving Yards

The Giants simply can not give Saquon Barkley the ball on every down, so it's likely Eli Manning will look for his new receiver often next season. Tate does most of his work in the open field and with an offensive scheme that passes the ball a lot, it's a strong possibility he could flirt with 80-100 yards a game for most of the season.

Tate has had 1,000-yard seasons three times in his career, but this season could be the biggest challenge of his career to hit the 1,000-yard mark again. Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford had an obvious connection with Tate, but Manning will be looking at Tate as a reliable option in the passing game much like how he once looked for OBJ. While Beckham Jr. is a young, fantastic talent whose skill set is nearly irreplaceable, Tate offers reliability and a nice set of hands. Tate could easily break the 1,000-yard mark in New York as the team will surely be down often and could find themselves playing from behind more than they are hoping.

Giants Will Target Tate More Than 120 Times

Tate could be the Giants most reliable target next season and he could see plenty of opportunities to be the team's leader in targets in 2019. Tate'scareer-highh mark in targets was 144 back in 2014 and while it's likely, he won't eclipse that amount he could see somewhere around 120 next season.

The Giants pass often because as stated previously they have been on the losing end in many games the past couple seasons. Tate is in a seemingly promising offense with some great young talent including receiver Sterling Shepard, tight Evan Engram and stud running back Saquon Barkley. It's still very possible Tate will see plenty of targets and he often gets his quarterback out of a jam with his great catching ability. The Giants likely have big plans for Tate next season and beyond.

Tate Will Have At Least Eight Touchdowns

While Tate isn't exactly a standout red-zone target, he has a great catch and run ability that could lead him to a lot of success next season. The Giants will need a receiver to produce some points aside from Barkley doing so out of the backfield.

The Giants will likely use Tate on third down often and whenever they need short yardage gains, but his ability to take a ball to the house could happen often next season with the number of targets he'll see. The possibility of Tate catching at least eight touchdowns would give him a new career high, so it'll be interesting to see how the Giants use him and his solid catching ability.
