After a successful mid-week match against Zenit, European champions Chelsea will be looking to continue their perfect run in a London Derby versus Tottenham. The Spurs had a perfect start ruined by Crystal Palace, losing 3-0 away from home in their most recent affair. They will be looking to bounce back, but with how Chelsea is looking, it will not be an easy task. Nonetheless, it's time to continue our soccer preview series by making a few delightful Tottenham-Chelsea predictions.

Here are three Tottenham-Chelsea predictions for the upcoming London matchup.

Tottenham-Chelsea Predictions

Lukaku will keep finding the back of the net

Romelu Lukaku has already found success in his return to the English Premier League. The Belgian forward has four goals in four games, with the latest goal coming against Zenit in a tough game. The Chelsea faithful must be incredibly happy to have Lukaku back, as the game versus Zenit is representative for many games in the EPL, where teams like Chelsea simply cannot break the deadlock.

However, it is not only the goals but the stability that Lukaku brings to Chelsea's game. His ability to simply keep the ball and use his huge frame and strength to keep it away from everyone is mesmerizing to watch and incredibly frustrating for anyone facing the Blues. He is also underrated in terms of distribution. While he is not Karim Benzema or Roberto Firmino, he is still an intelligent forward that knows how much pressure he applies on the defense and how to distribute a pass to his wingers for an opportunity on goal.

Generally, Chelsea has had a great start to the year in terms of scoring. Lukaku is leading, but six other players also got on the scoresheet. If Lukaku can be joined by at least one more player, especially if it is one of the wingers, Chelsea might be even more serious in challenging on all fronts.

Tottenham will bounce back, but will it be enough?

Obviously, losing against Crystal Palace is not ideal for Nuno Espirito Santo and his players. After three wins, including a first-week win against league favorites Manchester City, the Spurs lost in convincing fashion. The loss might hurt even more since the manager of Palace is Patrick Viera, a former Arsenal player who kept his perfect record against the Spurs even as a manager.

However, this team still has a ton of quality. Losing Japhet Tanganga who enjoyed a great start to his Tottenham career will hurt, as he would be perfect to deal with Chelsea and Lukaku. It will be interesting to see whether Espirito Santo can find a viable solution.

Davinson Sanchez will most likely start, as his isolation ends a day before his club is playing against Chelsea. Additionally, it is still unclear whether Eric Dier will be on the field, so the return of Cristian Romero, who was out for the same reason as Sanchez, will also be key.

There is no doubt that, with an attacking line of Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, and Dele Alli, Tottenham has a shot of winning this game. Should Heung Min Son and Steven Bergwijn get the green light as well, the chance of having positive results increases. The problem with defensive options persists, however, and that will be the key for the Spurs on the weekend.

It should be a close game

While the Spurs clearly did not have a fruitful weekend, they are still a team that can challenge for the title in England. Thus, they are automatically not an easy opponent and it is rare, even when there is a visible difference in quality, that these kinds of games are not close. Tottenham already had a game of this magnitude, beating City 1-0. While there are obvious caveats, like not having Tanganga or possibly Son, they can pull it off.

However, it is still very difficult to say that there will be any result on Sunday other than a Chelsea win. Their midfield, already elite, got even better with the addition of Saul Niguez. He will be looking to bounce back in a great way after a terrible first game for the squad.

Thomas Tuchel seems to have all the players playing on the top of their game and a fan of any team in the world, other than PSG possibly, would not like to see their team play against this squad.

Still, with all that being completely true, Chelsea will not get this win easily. It is still a London Derby and players will be pumped up. Regardless of everything, this should be a spectacle and has all the potential to be the best game of the entire weekend. While it is still early in the season, a Spurs win here might mean a serious case for contention, while Chelsea winning would make it even more clear for the rest of the league that they are going all out to win it all.
