Training camp is right around the corner, and the Chicago Bears should have plenty of position battles. The front office brought in a ton of new faces and rookies (like Justin Fields) this offseason, so it'll be interesting to see who makes the Bears' final roster.

They hope to have an improved year in 2021, even after making a playoff appearance a season ago. The NFC North is wide open for the taking as Aaron Rodgers' feud with the Green Bay Packers continues. The Minnesota Vikings look like a strong football team heading into the new season, so the Bears will need the best players possible to make another playoff run.

Multiple players will be cut before the start of the season, as each franchise must dwindle their rosters down to 53 players. However, some potential cut candidates could be let go sooner rather than later. Chicago has three veteran players who stand out as likely cut options due to the amount of depth in their respective positions.

Here are three cut candidates on the Bears' roster bubble entering 2021 training camp.

Javon Wims

Most remember Javon Wims as the wide receiver who dropped the wide-open pass in the end zone in the playoffs last season. He has had multiple opportunities to prove himself with Chicago for the last three years. That could all come to an end this offseason, as the front office has brought in a few new receivers to compete for a roster spot.

Damiere Byrd, Marquise Goodwin, and Dazz Newsome are the new receivers Chicago brought in to improve its receiving core. Newsome did suffer a shoulder injury that will likely cost him some valuable time, but Wims still has to compete with multiple other receivers on the roster. He hasn't impressed with his opportunities, and Chicago is likely to move on.

Ryan Nall

The Bears are loaded with running backs, which doesn't bode well for Ryan Nall's chances. David Montgomery will lock down the starting role. The coaching staff was hopeful for Tarik Cohen's return, but it seems he's not fully healthy yet. The front office brought in Damien Williams, who will likely earn a backup role in Chicago. Additionally, the Bears also drafted rookie Khalil Herbert, who could serve as a depth piece his rookie year.

That leaves Ryan Nall on the outside looking in. He has had very minimal production throughout his two-year career, so Chicago will be looking for someone more consistent to remain on the roster.

Joel Iyiegbuniwe

Inside linebacker is solid for the Chicago Bears, particularly at the starting lineup. Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan hold those spots down, however, it's the backup roles where Chicago struggles. The front office has loaded the position with multiple players as they search for the best player available to play behind their starters.

Joel Iyiegbuniwe is on the roster bubble, as he hasn't done much with his opportunities. Last year there was a chance for him to play starting time, but the coaching staff went with Manti Te'o instead. We'll see how this position battle goes, as multiple inside linebackers could be cut before the start of the 2021 season.
