The Dallas Mavericks will have to address a few questions this season since they have some potential but aren't in a position to win an NBA championship with their current roster.

Their biggest question entering into the season was who would be their new head coach, and they chose on Jason Kidd. Many people questioned the Kidd choice, but many of those individuals have to realize they were wrong because he has done an excellent job with this team thus far. Some issues about him were being asked since he did not do a good job as a prior head coach, and there were also some questions about things he did in the locker room that were not appropriate for an NBA coach to do. At the moment, it does not appear like this is the case in Dallas, as all of their players appear to be having a good time.

In addition to resolving that question, the Mavs are in a terrific spot, as they are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 25-19 record. They did so despite Kristaps Porzingis playing only 28 games and Luka Doncic playing 29.

While the Mavs have had some success without some of their best players this season, there are still a lot of unanswered issues regarding the team. Let's look at the three most important questions that this Mavs orginaztion must answer if they want to win an NBA title this season.

Mavs Questions 2022

3. Who is going to be paired next to Luka?

The Mavs' most pressing question will be who they will partner with Luka Doncic. They might opt to go out and grab a player like Jerami Grant or someone else who is certain to be available during the deadline.

Many stars are expected to be available before the deadline, so it would make sense if Dallas went all in and tried to pair Luka with that second star. They do have a few trade possibilities they might choose from, as well as some interesting contracts that could actually work out in their favor before the deadline. Despite the fact that many of their contracts are not team-friendly, every NBA contract is tradeable, and the Mavs front office will have to make sure they trade those bad contracts.

It would make sense if they went for a guy like Jerami Grant, but there will be other players as well. They may also take a chance on Ben Simmons, but there will almost certainly be better choices available during the trade deadline.

2. Is there a chance Kristaps Porzingis is moved?

There have been reports that the Mavericks may decide to trade Kristaps Porzingis, which is understandable. Those questions aren't being asked because of how he's performed this season; in fact, he's having a fantastic year on the court. The question about Porzingis that continues to be questioned is whether he can remain healthy for an entire season, which he has yet to demonstrate. The Mavs must keep this in mind because if they ever get deep into a playoff run and he is their second choice, as he is now, they will not be able to beat any of the Western Conference's best teams.

It could be risky to deal him just because he has had a lot of success when he is on the floor. The issue is that he is unable to stay healthy, which is something Mavs staff will need to consider. If they do decide to move him, it will make a lot of sense from their standpoint since many teams will be seeking for a center before the deadline, and the Mavs will be able to get a very favorable return.

1. Do they feel confident if they make a move or two they can win an NBA title?

It is difficult to argue that this team can win a title with their current roster. What is good for this Mavs team is that if they do make a trade or two, they will be right in the mix for a championship. They have a few players on their team who have really stepped up this year, and Luka Doncic is continuing to play at the high level that everyone expects of him. This year, players such as Jalen Brunson and others have really stepped up for them. They also should consider the fact that Tim Hardaway Jr has not been playing well this season, but that should change shortly.

Dallas has a tteam that will be difficult to beat in the playoffs once they have all of these guys at the same time and add a player or two to the mix.
