Warriors Questions 2022

3. Who is going to fill that rim protection role?

The biggest problem on this Golden State Warriors squad right now, without a doubt, is their rim protection. Fortunately for Golden State, there aren't many dominant big men in the Western Conference with whom they will have to contend with in the postseason. They will have to deal with players like Karl Anthony-Towns, Nikola Jokic, and Anthony Davis, but given how their teams have performed so far this season, the Warriors shouldn't have too much trouble with them.

The reality is that if they play any of those three teams, their rim protection is so bad that they might lose the series simply because those players can take over a game, and if Golden State doesn't have anyone to stop them, it will be difficult for them to win in the series. Fortunately for the Warriors, these teams don't have much beyond those three players, which should help them come out on top.

When they face the Phoenix Suns and Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton play the pick-and-roll game, they will have their biggest problem. They can put Draymond Green on the ball and then have him switch to Ayton, but it isn't going to work in the long run. Golden State will have a difficult time winning games if Green gets into foul trouble. Draymond Green is the Warriors' glue, and they need him to be on the court at all times if they want to win a championship.

This is a huge problem in the Warriors' current lineup, and they will need someone to fill the rim protector role. Fortunately for them, around the trade deadline, there will be a few centers that can defend the rim at a high level, and it might be in their best interests to acquire one of those players.

2. Can Klay Thompson get back to old form eventually?

Klay Thompson rejoined the Warriors a little more than a week ago. The Warriors have clearly struggled while he has been on the floor, which is to be anticipated given that he hasn't played with this team in two years and there are many new faces and various schemes that this Warriors team is using.

If the Warriors are going to want to win an NBA title, he must return to his pre-injury form. There's no reason to believe he won't get back to that level, because previous to this injury, he was one of the best pure shooters in the NBA. It will take some time, which will be tough for the Warriors, but they must allow him to continue to struggle during the regular season until he finds the rhythm he will need for the playoffs.

1. Is Golden State a legit title contender?

There have been some doubts about this Warriors squad in recent weeks since they haven't been playing well, but they have also had some unlucky injuries and other players, such as Klay Thompson, returning from their injuries. There is an argument to be made that Golden State is the most talented team in the NBA when they are fully healthy. The only thing holding this team back right now is their inability to defend the rim, but it is assumed that they will acquire someone to fill that role during the trade deadline.

The Warriors are one of the top teams in the NBA, and despite battling with several injuries this season, they are still title contenders with what they currently have. Many teams will not want to face this Warriors team in the playoffs since they have players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and young star Jordan Poole who can take over a game at any moment.

It is going to be an interesting season for Golden State. They have had some struggles along the way, despite having one of the best records in the NBA. Stephen Curry has not been shooting the way he usually does ever since he was close to breaking the all-time three-point record, which is something Golden State must figure out. Curry has been one of the best players of all time throughout his career and there is no reason to believe he will not get back to his usual form soon.
