The Green Bay Packers are poised to have a bounce-back season in 2019. They have made a plethora of moves to improve their roster—especially on the defensive side of the ball.

The Packers usually tend to avoid using free agency as a means of bringing in new players. This offseason was different, as Green Bay spent a ton of money to bring in Preston Smith, Za'Darius Smith, and Adrian Amos.

Green Bay's defense was definitely an issue in 2018 and the front office saw that. In 2018, the Packers ranked 18th in total defense. They weren't awful but changes needed to be made to keep up with the other teams in the NFC North.

They also drafted Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage to help bolster their defense. At first glance, the Packers offense looks great but they could use a little more.

One move they could possibly look into is bringing in Dez Bryant. Bryant is currently a free agent after playing with the New Orleans Saints last season. Although, Bryant suffered an injury before he got to play a down with the Saints.

There would likely be mixed opinions among Packers fans if this move was made.

Nonetheless, here are three reasons why the Packers should strongly consider signing Dez Bryant.

3. He Still Has Something Left in the Tank

Most people believe that Bryant has nothing left to offer to a team in the NFL. The veteran wideout hasn't played a snap in the NFL since 2017 when he was with the Dallas Cowboys.

In 2017, Bryant played in all 16 games and caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns. Those numbers aren't terrible considering the other receiving weapons around him at the time.

The second best-receiving option on the team was a 35-year old Jason Witten. After 2017, Witten was in the Monday Night Football booth after retiring from the NFL.

Witten is back on the Cowboys in 2019 after unretiring while Bryant finds himself without a team at 30-years old.

He may not be one of the best wide receivers in the NFL like he once was but he still has something left in the tank.

2. Red Zone Threat

Aaron Rodgers, Packers

The Packers offense wasn't terrible in the red zone in 2018 but they weren't where you'd like them to be for an Aaron Rodgers-led team. Things should be different with Matt LaFleur replacing Mike McCarthy as head coach.

In 2018, the Packers were 14th in the NFL, scoring a touchdown on 61.7% of their drives in the red zone. That number could increase with the addition of a guy like Bryant to the offense.

Currently, Jimmy Graham and Davante Adams are relied upon to be the main weapons in the red zone. Although, Graham disappointed in his first season with Green Bay last year.

Whether it was the way he was being schemed into the offense or just himself, something was off with Graham. LaFleur could help revert Graham to being one of the best tight ends in the NFL again.

Adding a receiver like Bryant, who is strong and physical could provide a much-needed boost to the red zone offense of the Packers next season.

1. Veteran Experience

Davante Adams, Packers

The Packers continue to get younger around their franchise quarterback. Rodgers is now 35-years old but the receiving core is dominated by youth.

As it is now, Green Bay's longest-tenured wide receiver is Adams. Adams is only 26 but has started in 67 games in his five seasons with the franchise.

Around Adams though, there is a ton of unproven talent at the wide receiver position. The three receivers behind Adams on the depth chart have combined for just 18 starts in the NFL.

Bryant has played eight seasons in the NFL and has started in 99 games. He could bring veteran leadership or experience if you will, to a young receiving group.

At one point in his eight-year career, Bryant was one of the best receivers in the game.

There's no doubt he still has a lot to offer an organization—even if it's in the form of leadership or experience.
