By acquiring Kristaps Porzingis during the NBA trade deadline, the Washington Wizards front office has to be ecstatic for numerous reasons. While they made the decision to move half of their team during the deadline, it is something that will be incredibly beneficial to their future.

What the Dallas Mavericks are doing is debatable, and it wasn't a move that will make their fans pleased. Porzingis has his questions, but obtaining the return they got from the Wizards didn't seem to make sense from their standpoint.

Nonetheless, the Washington Wizards must be pleased with the trade, and they will not be concerned that the Dallas front office did a poor job. This is a move by the Wizards that might aid them in the future whenever Bradley Beal returns to the floor next season.

It'll certainly take longer than a year, so anticipate them to attempt to make a couple more moves to assist speed up their process to championship contenders.

There are a number of reasons why Kristaps Porzingis would be a good match for the Washington Wizards. Despite the fact that there are still concerns about his ability to stay healthy, it is a move that, if he is able to stay on the floor, might be the ideal solution to the Wizards' difficulties.

Let's look at three reasons why Porzingis is an excellent fit for the Wizards.

While some supporters may not agree with the reasons why their team traded for him, the front office made a great move. There was definitely an area where they needed to improve, and while Porzingis may not be the perfect solution, he still has a lot of promise for the Wizards.

3. With Bradley Beal, they have a potential all-star center

People like to clown on Kristaps Porzingis for some strange reason, and whatever that reason is, it doesn't make much sense. Sure, he has a history of injuries, but there's no doubting that when he's on the floor, he can put up 20-plus points every game. Despite the fact that he hasn't played his best basketball in the previous few seasons due to injuries, he is still a player with a bright future and the potential to be an All-Star if things go well for him and he can remain on the floor.

Throughout his career, Bradley Beal hasn't had an elite center who can score inside. They may now run a pick-and-roll in which Bradley Beal will be able to get more open shots, and if there's no open shot, he'll simply pass it off to Kristaps Porzingis. This is going to be a big part of the Wizards' offense in the future, and it's bound to delight some fans.

2.. Wizards were able to get rid of Davis Bertans dreadful contract

Whatever sort of player the Washington Wizards received in exchange for Davis Bertans, their main goal heading into the trade deadline was to get rid of him and his dreadful deal. There's no arguing that he's on the worst contract in the NBA right now, and you could argue that he's on one of the worst contracts in NBA history.

He should never have been paid so much money, and it was certainly dubious why they gave him that much. Despite the fact that it was a bad contract, you have to give it up for the Wizards to be able to not only trade that contract, but to go out and trade that contract for someone who can help this team's future.

They were also able to let go of Spencer Dinwiddie, who, while he wasn't playing his best basketball this season, was still a capable player. But, because of his locker-room attitude, the front office made the right choice to trade him as well.

1. Provides a legitimate scoring center for them

During this season, the Washington Wizards have had a couple players come up and provide adequate minutes at the center position. The fact is that none of those players were elite offensive players, and although there are still doubts about Kristaps Porzingis' defensive ability, there is no questioning his offensive prowess.

It will be fascinating to watch how the Wizards handle this situation. The Wizards have to be quite confident with what they're doing if Bradley Beal can return 100 percent healthy next year and Kristaps Porzingis can remain healthy for the whole season. They'll definitely have to make some changes, but they do have a lot of money to spend throughout the summer, so expect them to attempt to add a few players who can play well with their top two players.
