Madden 23 recently released their overall player ratings. Some players were likely thrilled with the results. For example, Davante Adams is a 99 overall wide receiver. Meanwhile, reigning Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp is a 98. However, others are simply underrated. San Francisco 49ers superstar Deebo Samuel is an 88 overall and isn't even in the top 10 of receivers. He trails players such as Amari Cooper and Terry McLaurin.

Samuel shared an honest response in reference to his surprisingly low Madden 23 rating.

Deebo Samuel sent a subtle jab at Madden in this Tweet by saying he only plays NBA 2K.

Samuel's rating of 88 undeniably feels low. He is a versatile player who can play running back as well. He ran for over 360 yards to go along with 8 touchdowns last season. Meanwhile, he reeled in 77 receptions and posted 1,405 receiving yards and 6 touchdown catches.

His dual-threat ability constantly kept opposing defenses on their toes. Deebo Samuel is a rare breed of player. He is a valuable offensive weapon for the San Francisco 49ers.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase found himself in a similar situation to Samuel following Madden 23's ratings release. Chase emerged as a star in 2021 for a Bengals team that went to the Super Bowl. Despite his strong 2021 performance, Ja'Marr Chase was rated just 87 overall.

He said he would use the rating as motivation for the upcoming season.

i’m going keep working . Extra motivation

Both Deebo Samuel and Ja'Marr Chase should probably be in the 90's rating club. Nonetheless, both are incredible players who don't need a rating to justify their talent.
