San Francisco's fans have infiltrated the past couple of road stadiums they've played in, including Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium, the last time these two teams met. The Rams organization has seemingly pulled out all the stops to attempt to prevent such a takeover from happening again. 49ers quarterback delivered an inspiring message to the 49ers' faithful ahead of the clash vs. the Rams, via NFL.com.
“Faithful, they travel tremendously. When you could get your fans behind you like that in a road game, and we knew it before the game even started, there was a lot of red, you could see it. But once we started making plays and they started getting loud, it just changes the momentum of the game, I think,” 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said Wednesday. “And you could feel it on the sidelines. It's not just something that you could put your finger on and you can't see specifically, but you could feel it, you could hear it. And our team responds well to that. Hopefully, the Faithful will be out there loud and proud. I know they're trying.”
Jimmy Garoppolo is a real one for this message ahead of the 49ers-Rams battle. Garoppolo is absolutely right about the fans, too.
When the crowd is loud enough, especially for the road team, it can swing the momentum in the game. The best part about this statement from Garoppolo is the fact that he acknowledges the effect that the 49ers fans have on the team- they respond well to it.
