Jimmy Garoppolo just can't catch a break from injuries. After enduring a thumb issue in recent games, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback is now dealing with a shoulder sprain. Although minor, it comes as they prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round.

Garoppolo sustained the injury during their Wild Card showdown with the Dallas Cowboys, which they won 23-17. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, it is a slight sprain in the QB's throwing shoulder, but he should still be able to participate in practice on Wednesday.

This is certainly concerning news for the 49ers. After all, they will be facing the best team in the regular season on the 13-5 Packers, led by none other than future Hall of Fame quarterback and MVP contender Aaron Rodgers.

The 49ers need Jimmy Garoppolo at his absolute best if they want to beat the Packers, so the next few days will be crucial in his recover to be at 100 percent come Saturday,

Against the Cowboys, Garoppolo failed to throw for a touchdown and actually had one interception. However, he did complete 16 of his 25 pass attempts for 172 yards. The veteran QB was also a stabilizing presence, despite his inconsistencies, as he helped dissect the Cowboys defense to help the team take an early lead.

Hopefully, Garoppolo's injury won't be a long-term and recurring issue.
