Nick Bosa is the 2019 defensive rookie of the year for his solid defensive efforts for the San Francisco 49ers. However, the season couldn't possibly end for Bosa without controversy chasing him. This time, his off-field problems involve him following an Instagram account that mocked Kobe Bryant's death.

The connection was first shared by a Twitter user that saw the account post offensive material about the late NBA star's death. A quick look at the accounts' follower list revealed the San Francisco EDGE to be among them.

This only raises some unneeded distractions for the pass-rusher ahead of the most important game of his season yet. While it's very unlikely that he will be affected by this, for it to arise now is nothing short of disappointing.

Everyone in Niners Nation knows that Bosa is an avid supporter of President Donald Trump and called Colin Kaepernick a “clown” for his kneeling during the national anthem. However, he's since cleaned up his social media footprint and apologized for his tweets.

He had this to say during his introductory press conference, via Bleacher Report's Mike Chiari:

“I definitely made some insensitive decisions throughout my life and I'm just excited to be here with a clean slate. I'm sorry if I hurt anybody. I definitely didn't intend for that to be the case but I think me being here is even better for me as a person because I don't think there's any city that you could really be in that would help you grow as much as this one will.”

Of course, this news shouldn't affect Bosa's performance in the Super Bowl at all. All that it did was smear his name; a smear that can be removed by a Super Bowl ring. The 49ers are obviously hoping for it with The Big Game a mere few hours away at this point.
