The San Francisco 49ers did not practice on Monday, but with a Thursday night matchup with the Arizona Cardinals looming, they were still required by the NFL to turn in an injury report.

On the report was running back Matt Breida, who was listed as limited due to the ankle injury he suffered during the 49ers' blowout win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that he was not sure of the extent of Breida's injury, although it was serious enough for him to be taken out of the game (although it was a complete rout).

Breida carried the ball 11 times for 35 yards while logging one catch for 15 yards in what ended up being a 51-13 victory over the Panthers.

On the season overall, he has rushed for 446 yards and a touchdown while averaging 5.3 yards per carry. In addition, he has tallied 12 catches for 89 yards and a score.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Georgia Southern, went undrafted but signed with the Niners as a free agent in May 2017.

He had a rather limited role during his rookie campaign, carrying the ball 105 times for 465 yards and a couple of touchdowns, but last season, Breida had a breakout year of sorts, registering 814 yards and three scores on the ground while recording 5.3 yards per attempt. He also caught 27 passes for 261 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 49ers have gotten off to an NFC-best 7-0 start this season.
