Super Mario RPG has so far been a hit since its re-release on the Nintendo Switch. If this classic can be a hit as a remake, what's stopping other classic Nintendo games from doing the same? Here are 5 more Nintendo games that need a remake after the success of Super Mario RPG.

5. Super Metroid (1994)

This classic Metroid game turns thirty years old next year. While Metroid Prime was remastered earlier this year, Super Metroid is arguably the first game in the Metroid series that put the franchise on the map. The game still holds up pretty well today, but an extra update to the graphics and motion gameplay never hurts. If remastering this singular game isn't enough, perhaps remastering or remaking the Metroid Prime series for the Switch, possibly bundling all three games with improved graphics and updated controls, would be highly anticipated by fans.

4. F-Zero GX (2003)

Reviving the high-speed racing action of F-Zero with a new installment or a remastered version of the GameCube title would cater to fans hungry for futuristic racing. Captain Falcon is also a fan favorite amongst F-Zero and Super Smash Bros. players alike. Racing games are a genre of video game that will seemingly always be popular. Perhaps it's time that F-Zero GX gets its revival.

3. Star Fox (1993)

The Star Fox series has been the pinnacle of rail shooting games since its first release over thirty years ago. While many fans and critics believe Star Fox 64 (its successor) is the better game, that gives even more of a reason for the original Star Fox to be remastered. Taking the level design from the original Star Fox game and spicing it up with better graphics, gameplay, and a longer story could be the perfect way to bring this series back to life. Similar to Captain Falcon, Fox is a fan favorite among the Super Smash Bros. community. Remastering one of his games could allow fans to learn a bit more about one of their favorite characters.

2. Mario Super Sluggers (2008)

While Super Sluggers isn't a typical story game like the titles listed above, it's one of the most beloved Mario sports games of all time. Released on the Wii fifteen years ago, Mario Super Sluggers takes baseball to a creatively fun new level. Items, unique ballparks, and a surprisingly fun story mode make this game an instant Mario sports classic. A remastered version would of course enhance the gameplay and graphics, but could maybe even add a few new twists to make the baseball action even more wild.

The original Donkey Kong Country holds a special place in the hearts of many gamers who grew up playing it on the SNES. A remake could tap into this nostalgia, allowing both old fans to relive their cherished memories and new players to experience the magic of the series. With updated graphics, mechanics, and potentially additional content, a remake could bring the beloved game into the modern era, appealing to contemporary audiences while preserving its core charm. As a whole, a remake of Donkey Kong Country presents an opportunity for Nintendo to pay homage to a classic while introducing it to a new audience, bridging the gap between nostalgia and modern gaming experiences. It would allow both longtime fans and newcomers to embark on an exciting adventure in the world of Donkey Kong.

These are just a handful of titles from Nintendo's extensive catalog that could potentially benefit from a remake or remaster on the Nintendo Switch, offering both nostalgia and fresh experiences for players. The more the merrier when it comes to classic Nintendo games.
