Here is to hoping you like some pro wrestling mixed with your National Football League excitement. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers claims Minnesota Vikings defensive talent Anthony Barr gave him the finger and “suck it” sign.
In an appearance on the Conan O'Brien show, Aaron Rodgers told the host about the insertion of 13 screws to hold together a broken collarbone. But that wasn't it, as Rodgers explained what happened as he was leaving the field and jawing with Vikings players following the hit from linebacker Anthony Barr that resulted in the fracture.
“I looked over at him as I walked off the field,” Rodgers said. “Cameras caught me saying something to him but what they missed was him [giving me the] finger [and the] ‘suck it‘ sign.”
For those unaware, here is the move Anthony Barr allegedly pulled:
Here is video of Aaron Rodgers going on the show, minus any Green Bay Packers gear, to discuss his encounter with Anthony Bar of the Vikings:
Speaking to the press after the incident (via ESPN’s Courney Cronin), Barr defended himself by stating that he had no intention of hurting Rodgers on play:
“By no means was I trying to injure or take out Aaron Rodgers… He’s one of, if not, the best player in this league. I’m not a dirty player. I don’t play dirty. We don’t preach that around here.
“It’s unfortunate, the injury. I hate to see anybody get hurt. It’s a gift and a privilege to be able to play on the field each week, so I would never try and take that away from anybody, let alone one of the best players in our game.”
