Before he was a member of the AEW roster, Darby Allin's tag team partner, or even had a proper WWE match on his resume, the Man called Sting was a fixture of Impact Wrestling, or as it was called then, TNA, where he wrestled from 2006 through 2014. Over his time in the promotion, Sting won championship gold six times, including the NWA World Heavyweight Championship – 15 years after he lost the belt in 1991 – the TNA World Tag Team Championship alongside Kurt Angle, and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, which he held for a combined 326 days between 2007 and 2011.

Did things end particularly well for “The Icon” in the mid-2010s? Eh, not really; his final feud in Impact with EC3 and the man who would eventually be known as Nick Aldis was rather weird, and some have used his “Joker” era as a bit of a punchline for the sheer ridiculousness of the promotion during that era, but it's hard not to call the Stinger a classic Impact performer worthy of legendary status within the organization.

So, with Impact celebrating their 20th anniversary at the Pay-Per-View event Slammiversary, there's no way Sting wouldn't join in with the likes of Angle to wish the company well, right? Well, if you voted yes, then you would be right.

Even in short bursts, Sting plus wrestling is money every time, especially when his video package is played directly before the Women's Tag Team Championship match between The Influence and the team of Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary, who is arguably the closest thing to”The Icon” in the promotion today.
