Portland Trail Blazers guard Allen Crabbe is slated to undergo surgery on Thursday in efforts to repair a stress reaction of the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot, president of basketball operations Neil Olshey announced today.

His surgery will be performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Crabbe is expected to be ready for the start of the 2017-2018 season, per ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Crabbe has been an integral part of the Blazers' up-and-down game throughout the season after signing a five-year, $74.8 million contract to remain with the team after Portland had matched an offer sheet by the Brooklyn Nets.

The 24-year-old saw increased minutes this season and responded accordingly, averaging career-highs across the board with 10.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game through 79 games and seven starts this season.

Crabbe was the league's second-deadliest three-point shooter this season, shooting the deep ball at a 44.4 percent clip — good for the best mark in franchise history for anyone with over 100 attempts and a five percent augment from last season's remarkable shooting.

The Cal product also shot a career-high 46.8 percent from the field in his fourth season with the Blazers, along with a crisp 84.7 percent from the foul line.

Allen Crabbe struggled in the postseason, averaging a mere 5.5 points and three rebounds per game in the first round. He will need to be at 100 percent health if the Blazers hope to have another crack at the playoffs next season.
