The Arizona Cardinals look to face off against the San Francisco 49ers in a heated NFC West showdown. This is a big game for Arizona, as it's against a division rival and a win keeps them undefeated. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Cardinals Week 5 prediction.

Surprisingly, the Cardinals have played like one of the best teams in the league so far. They're on a tear at the moment and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. The defense has been one of the biggest reasons for Arizona's recent success. We should see that group stifle the 49ers on Sunday.

Additionally, the offense has been rolling on all cylinders. The running back duo of Chase Edmonds and James Conner has given the Cardinals a steady rushing attack. Furthermore, the wide receiver group has been phenomenal and Christian Kirk seems to have found a connection with his quarterback. Kyler Murray is on fire right now and will look to continue his hot streak. With that said, here are four bold Cardinals Week 5 predictions against the 49ers.

Cardinals Week 5 Predictions

4. Cardinals defense shuts down the 49ers

This Arizona defense is one of the main reasons why the Cardinals are winning. They've held their opponents to 20 points or less in three of their four games. It was originally believed this squad would struggle in pass coverage due to their young group in the secondary. Instead, they've stepped up and are dominating the league right now.

The front seven has been the most efficient aspect of the defense. JJ Watt and Chandler Jones have become a dangerous duo on the defensive line. We should see them wreak havoc in the 49ers' backfield and attack the quarterback. If the Cardinals can hold San Francisco to 20 points or less, this should be an easy win for Arizona.

3. Chase Edmonds and James Conner combine for 150+ total yards and 3 touchdowns

Chase Edmonds has finally been given the reins as the starting running back. However, James Conner has served as a solid rotational option out of the backfield. Between the two, the Cardinals have developed a solid run game to improve the offense. Edmonds and Conner will be heavily involved in the Cardinals' game plan on Sunday, which means they should be in for another big game.

2. Christian Kirk bounces back with a big performance

He was quiet in Week 4, but he could bounce back in Week 5. Christian Kirk seems to have figured out what clicks in the NFL, as he's become one of Kyler Murray's favorite targets. He's been a great second option behind DeAndre Hopkins which is exactly what the Cardinals needed from him. With the opposing defense focusing more on his teammates, Kirk could be in for a big performance on Sunday.

1. Kyler Murray proves he deserves the MVP

Kyler Murray has been playing on another level so far this season. He's already racked up 1,273 yards through the air, 109 rushing yards, and 12 total touchdowns. Additionally, Murray's awareness is through the roof as he's dodging defenders with ease. He's been playing like an elite quarterback in the NFL and gives the Cardinals a chance to win every game. Look for him to continue this hot streak to help his team defeat the 49ers.
