Naomi Osaka easily defeated tennis legend Serena Williams en route to the Australian Open Final. More than the victory, Osaka was happy for simply playing against her childhood idol.

Watch the clip below to witness Osaka's heartfelt reaction to sharing the same tennis court with Williams. She also delivered a message to kids aspiring to make it big on the tennis court or in any field.

Naomi Osaka easily took care of Serena Williams 6-3, 6-4 in the Australian Open Semifinals. She will be facing either No. 25 seed Karolina Muchova or the 22nd-seeded American Jennifer Brady in the final.

From a tactical perspective, Osaka believes that she forced Williams to commit several errors in the first few games of the Australian Open semis. While she looked calm as a cucumber, Osaka did admit she was a bit intimidated by Williams.

“I did a lot of unforced errors in the first few games. I was really nervous and scared in the beginning and then I sort of eased my way into it,” Osaka said on the court, per the Financial Review.

“It’s just always an honour to play her and I just didn’t want to go out really dud. I just wanted to try my best.”

Osaka indeed possesses one of the best narratives in sports history. Let's see if she can continue her success in the Australian Open.
