Barcelona made some major moves in the January transfer window, bringing in the likes of Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Both players have injected life into Xavi's side, playing a key part in their 4-0 routing of Real Madrid on the weekend.

Now, Barca is bringing in another talented player this summer on a free transfer. The club has signed AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie to a four-year deal.

Via Fabrizio Romano:

Kessie is an absolute workhorse in the middle of the pitch and defines a box-to-box midfielder, contributing on both ends. Barcelona plans to give the Ivory Coast international a €6.5 million salary per season.

Kessie joined Milan in 2019 from fellow Serie A outfit Atalanta, making 166 appearances across five seasons at the San Siro, scoring 35 goals and tallying eight assists. His best campaign for the Rossoneri came in 2020-21, netting 13 times.

Now, Kessie gets to join one of the biggest clubs in Barcelona and be a part of Xavi's project at Camp Nou. The Catalans have been rejuvenated since the arrival of their former player. Adding a player of Kessie's stature will only help this squad improve even more.

The 25-year-old has bagged five goals in 23 Serie A outings this term and will make his way to Barcelona this summer.
