The Chicago Bears did not see a significant improvement from former second-overall pick Mitchell Trubisky in the quarterback's third season in the NFL and could instead ditch him for another signal-caller.

Las Vegas Raiders veteran quarterback Derek Carr has emerged as a possible target given speculation that, like Chicago, the newly relocated franchise could dump the three-time Pro-Bowler for another gunslinger (maybe Tom Brady). NFL insider Benjamin Allbright shared on Thursday morning that the Bears are “quietly” on a quarterback search, and they would be interested should Carr be available.

On the same morning, Carr, 28, shared a photo on social media, posting a picture of himself with his former Raiders teammate, Khalil, who has played for the Bears for the past two seasons.

Mack was controversially traded away from the Raiders before the 2018 season by head coach Jon Gruden in an effort to clean house during the former Defensive Player of the Year's preseason holdout.

In Mack's first season with the Bears, the AFC West club only won four games, and this past regular season saw the Raiders narrowly miss the postseason at 7-9 with Carr under center for the sixth consecutive year—with only one playoff appearance to show for it.

For the Bears, after leading the Windy City franchise to an NFC North division title in 2018, Trubisky infamously regressed this past season calling his future in Chicago in question. The Bears are among a half a dozen franchises with a precarious situation at quarterback, and Carr is a popular name being thrown around due to his relationship with Las Vegas souring in recent weeks along with a rumor that Brady, the future Hall of Fame New England Patriots QB, is interested in playing for the Raiders in their new home.
