Bears’ Khalil Mack, Allen Robinson set to play in Week 10 vs. Lions
The Chicago Bears duo of outside linebacker Khalil Mack and wide receiver Allen Robinson will both play against the Lions on Sunday after both practiced fully for the third day in a row Friday, per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Neither was listed on the game status report for Sunday, which indicates they are good to go. Mack had been dealing with a right ankle injury for the past few weeks, while Robinson had been recovering from a groin injury.
When healthy, Mack has been a dominant force on defense for the Bears. Through six games, Mack has racked up five sacks, four forced fumbles, and an interception. Meanwhile, Robinson has 25 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns through six games.
Despite Mack and Robinson’s absence, the Bears were able to register comfortable wins over the struggling Jets and Bills.
The Bears defense was absolutely dominant against the Nathan Peterman-led Bills. Chicago’s D forced four turnovers, two of which they returned for touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Anthony Miller emerged as the Bears’ most consistent receiver in Robinson’s absence. The rookie had eight catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in the two games.
The return of Mack and Robinson will obviously be a big boost ahead of their big showdown against their division rivals. A win for the Bears would push them up to 6-3, while the last-place Lions would sink further at 3-6.
Matthew Stafford was sacked 10 times in the Lions’ 24-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. If Mack is anywhere close to his best, he’s likely to do a lot of damage to Detroit’s offensive line.
