The Chicago Bears defense got a big pickup when they traded for Khalil Mack last week and it appears another key member of the Bears defense is also right on track to play in Week 1. Leonard Floyd, who recently went under the knife to fix a fractured right hand, returned to practice on Monday and it appears baring any setback he will be on the field against the Green Bay Packers.

Floyd was fitted for a club on his hand and now Bears coach Matt Nagy said the big thing is that Floyd gets used to playing with it on.

“Leonard did well today,” Nagy said, via the Chicago Tribune. “He had the club on, so he was out there running around, just going through his assignments. Nothing is affected with his legs, so he was good there. He’s just got to get used to feeling how that is with your hand in a club.”

Monday was the first practice that Floyd participated since breaking his hand on August 18th against the Denver Broncos. Floyd was bracing himself after a cut block and it ended up being a broken hand that he suffered.

Mack is expected to play in week one after he reported to the team and signed the extension. With both starting pass rushers set to get some run on the field in the first game, it will give Bears fans a glimpse of what the future of their promising young defense will look like in the future.
