Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was the second overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, and while he isn't a bust, he is not exactly on the same level as fellow signal-callers Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, both of whom were also chosen in 2017.

So just how good is Trubisky?

Well, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports placed Trubisky into the tier of quarterbacks that “you can with with,” which is not exactly a ringing endorsement.

“Plenty of people are anointing Trubisky, but I want to see him play better outside of the scripted first quarter and handle a bigger role,” La Canfora wrote. “The Bears have a tougher schedule ahead and if that defense slips just a little.”

Basically, it seems like La Canfora is saying that the Bears can currently win in spite of Trubisky, because winning “with” a quarterback sounds different than winning because of him.

Trubisky is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 3,223 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 66.6 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 95.4 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance, so he certainly wasn't bad this past season. He also rushed for 421 yards and three scores.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of North Carolina, started 12 games during his rookie year, finishing with 2,193 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven picks while completing 59.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 77.5.

The Bears won 12 games and captured the NFC North division title in 2018, marking their first playoff appearance since the 2010-11 campaign.
