The NFL is a game of tactics and hitting your opponents where it hurts. The Chicago Bears understand the need of having a good coaching staff behind your players and have picked an outstanding person in Chuck Pagano.

Pagano has had a long career on the gridiron and has built a great reputation for himself as a tough defensive coach. As the new defensive coordinator for the Bears, he is expected to solidify the defense and compete for a deep playoff run.

The former Indy Colts head coach has impressed the Bears so much that the team's front office in general manager Ryan Pace has nothing but praise to say about him.

Via the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs:

“You know, without getting into specifics from a schematic standpoint, just talking about Chuck as a person, unbelievable person,” [general manager Ryan] Pace said. “Our players have completely bought into him. A great motivator, he cares tremendously about everybody on this team. And that’s why I think this has been so seamless, because of the person he is, the background that he has and how much our players and all of us believe in him.”

“You can see for yourself,” defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris said. “It’s the big reveal. Can’t tell anybody anything.”

The Bears have one of the best defenses in the NFC North with a defensive SRS of 4.8. However, they fell to the Philadelphia Eagles during the Wild Card round by a single point. Should Pagano be able to overhaul the defense, a conference championship is not out of the question.
