Despite a 13-point drubbing at the hands of the Indiana Pacers, a few spectators at Bankers Life Fieldhouse saw a glimpse of the Philadelphia 76ers’ bright future — or at least a portion of it.
2016 top overall pick Ben Simmons was trying to break some sweat at shootaround when he wowed the crowd with a flashy off-the-glass throwdown. Yes, once slated as out for the entire 2016-2017 season, Simmons appears to be comfortable enough with his foot that he’s able to perform such activity with ease.

With Joel Embiid also sitting out until the summer along with Simmons, Philadelphia witnessed the emergence of another rookie in Dario Saric.
The do-it-all Croatian figures to form a promising international trio along with the crafty Cameroonian and versatile Australian next season when the team returns with a healthy roster.
But for now, Sixer fans can take comfort over what lies ahead for the franchise after years of trusting the process.
