LiAngelo Ball opted to skip college and play professionally in Lithuania. It was a big and difficult leap for his young career, primarily because he played against much older and experienced players. It turned out, however, that his foes weren't the only challenges he faced. His teammates, too, became a source of dispute.

As reported by Josh Martin of LonzoWire, Ball said that his teammates at Prienu Vytautas were jealous of him and his younger brother LaMelo. Mainly because of the threat they presented to their pre-established roles on the team:

“Yeah, when we first got there, especially because I’m 19 years old and American,” LiAngelo said. “Coming over there, they don’t want to lose the[ir] job playing.”

Their teammates actually pulled a prank on them. They posted photos of LaMelo side by side with Borat — a character played from Kazakhstan created and played by Sacha Baron Cohen. Though meant as a prank, the Ball brothers didn't take it too well. They said:

“I’m just not meshing with the team right now,” Melo says. “I don’t feel the teammates support me or welcome me. They don’t like me.”

LiAngelo, for his part, felt it was silly. He was affected but said that basketball is all they came for:

“They thought it was hilarious but I don’t know,” Gelo says. “I don’t really laugh at silly [expletive] like that too much. Me and Melo are just here to play basketball and that’s pretty much all we care about.”
