While the BIG3 season might be over, there are still fireworks going on off the court. BIG3 owner Ice Cube and former participant Baron Davis shared a heated exchange over Twitter because of an interview Ice Cube gave to TMZ Sports:

Davis and BIG3 didn't exactly separate cleanly.

After the former NBA star participated in the second season of the three on three basketball league, many assumed he would return for another season.

BIG3 announced that they would be deactivating Davis, along with several other former NBA players, before he even got a chance to play.

Here's what Ice Cube had to say on the deactivations:

“As a league, we want players that are actually playing, so if you aren't playing, or can't play, or you have any health issues …”

Basically, the rapper is saying Davis just didn't have what it takes to play in the league at the moment. Davis wasn't too happy with that, which led to the exchange above.

It's a shame that the two stars have to fight so publicly. It would be great if they can work out the tiff behind closed doors, and we might even get another chance to see Davis play ball on a BIG3 court again.

While it's too late for Davis to make an NBA comeback, the BIG3 has provided a league for guys that want to show they can still contribute in the NBA. Most recently, Joe Johnson dominated the league and is actually getting consideration from a few NBA teams.

Hopefully, this minor altercation doesn't scare off any former NBA players from participating in the fairly new league.
