Through his first three seasons in the league, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has experienced a bit of a drop off with his production on the field.

Much of that came in the way of dealing with nagging leg injuries this past season that have forward questions about his long-term future with the Buffalo Bills as he's in the fifth-year option of his rookie deal that is worth $8.4 million for the 2018 campaign. With that in mind, Benjamin has voiced that he wants to get back to being considered one of the top young wide receivers in the league, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.

“I'm just trying to go out and work on my craft,” he said. “Get back to just working on my craft and just get back to dominating.”

Benjamin is entering a critical season where he must prove that he's worth a lucrative long-term deal next offseason when he hits the open market in free agency for the first time in his NFL career. He has already been able to take steps forward by being able to practice fully in the offseason workouts and now training camp after undergoing surgery to repair his meniscus shortly after the Bills' early exit in the playoffs in the Wild Card round.

The 27-year-old had been acquired from Carolina Panthers in a mid-season trade where he played six games with Buffalo recording 16 receptions for 217 receiving yards and a touchdown despite dealing with a nagging knee injury. The fact that he appears to be past his knee injury could set the table for him to put together a highly productive 2018 campaign that could challenge his rookie season where he had 73 catches for 1,008 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Simply put, things are in his hands to take advantage of the opportunity that is in front of him next season to showcase that he deserves to be a long-term piece of the puzzle in Buffalo.
