Chinese game developers Game Science Studio released a new trailer for their upcoming game Black Myth: Wukong. The trailer greets fans with a short trailer, meant to commemorate the coming Chinese New Year.

BLACK MYTH: WUKONG WELCOMES THE OX AND SENDS THE RATS PACKING

In the short new trailer for the game, the devs showcased Black Myth: Wukong's gorgeous graphics again. The animation and models are notably smooth, which should look great in next-generation consoles. While it's way shorter than the original trailer, this one still gives us more to go on to this upcoming game. Between the release of the first trailer last August until today, there hasn't been much news about this game. Anything new quenches our thirst for more hints about this intriguing game.

A short note in the description of the trailer's Youtube video put out a disclaimer. The note reads, “This video is specially produced for celebrating Chinese New Year. It does not represent actual plot.”

Indeed, the video's scenes were arranged in a way that is relevant to the Chinese New Year. In the video, Wukong first vanquished a two-headed rat monster. The two-legged monster is a reference to 2020, which is the Year of the Rat. Upon defeating the rat monster, a gigantic Ox monster faced the Monkey King.

Regardless, the new trailer gives us a better feel about what kind of game Black Myth: Wukong will be like. The game already looks amazing, but the developers at Game Science Studio seem to be taking their time. Game Science Studio plans to release Black Myth: Wukong on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Microsoft Windows no later than 2023.

Black Myth: Wukong follows the titular character Wukong, a Chinese mythological character from the story ancient Chinese novel A Journey to the West. Wukong is a popular reference character in pop culture, appearing in both Dota 2 and League of Legends, and is the inspiration of anime character Son Goku of Dragon Ball.
