Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum got rejected by the rim during the team's first scrimmage game on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers, and both CJ and Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray got a kick out of it.

Kudos to CJ McCollum for being a good sport in all of this. The Blazers star, along with the rest of his teammates, was rusty since Thursday was the first time Portland and Indiana played in a real game since March.

Once the eight seeding games start, expect CJ McCollum and Co. to play a lot better since they'll have more rhythm. The Blazers need to basically go 8-0 in the seeding games to overtake the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference.

CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard give Portland a 1-2 scoring punch, a central reason why the Blazers ā€” if they catch fire in Orlando ā€” could make some noise in a crowded Western Conference. The Western Conference has brought 13 teams to Orlando ā€” with Portland being one of several clubs trying to crack the playoffs. The Eastern Conference has only nine teams, and the ninth-place club ā€” the Washington Wizards ā€” has a very tiny chance of being able to make the postseason.

The Blazers ā€” with CJ McCollum ā€” have a real shot.
