As a professional athlete, you know you've made your mark on the game when your signature skill somehow crosses over into other sports. As if he didn't already know, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is at that point in his career. He was no-doubt watching his beloved Las Vegas Raiders play the Miami Dolphins, and probably did a double-take when he heard his own name called out by quarterback Derek Carr for an audible.

The play that followed could not be a more accurate depiction of the football version of Lillard's game. After clearly hearing and seeing Carr call out “Damian Lillard” to his teammates, he sent a 60-yard missile across the field aimed at wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, who was sprinting past the 10-yard line. The pass was overthrown, but it's obvious why the play was labeled a Damian Lillard. Dame is known for his ability to hit deep jump shots from far beyond the three-point line, so it makes perfect sense that Carr would chuck a long-range pass in honor of the Oakland native.

A Reddit user pointed out that Carr also called a “James Harden” audible, which means an iso up the middle for the running back in the Raiders' playbook—another accurate NBA comp, given that Harden might be the greatest isolation player in the league today.

The Lillard call is too perfect though, given his ties to the Raiders' former city. The Blazers star was born and raised in Oakland, California, and shows love to the Bay Area every chance he gets. It must be a thrill to see a team he's loved since childhood pay tribute to him in such an accurate way.
