NBA legend Vince Carter was one of the most electrifying players to ever take the floor. But even Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard was able to break one of his tremendous records on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets.

Dame drained eight three-pointers in the opening two quarters alone to cap off a 32-point first half, which actually matched VC's record from his time with the Toronto Raptors in 2001. Needless to say, he was severely impressed by the Blazers guard's ability to reach such a wild feat.

“When you're in a zone, particularly from three, and I wasn't shooting from the distance that Dame was shooting in that game, it was a great moment,” Carter said during ESPN's “The Jump“. “I needed it. That's what I needed to do for my team. So I know what Dame was going through that night, it's unbelievable. How do you guard a logo three? I don't know how.”

Logo threes were certainly not a thing back in Carter's days. Lillard is known for hitting them on a regular basis with the Blazers. This was earlier in the season, but here's an example:

Carter has a point. How do you guard that? It's practically impossible. The Blazers ended up losing Game 2 though after a rather uninspiring defensive performance in Denver. Lillard was very quiet in the second half, scoring just 10 more points after Aaron Gordon locked him down.

They're back at it on Thursday night as the Blazers head back home for the next two games. Damian Lillard will need to be at his best once again while Portland has to figure out a way to contain Nikola Jokic.
