Portland Trail Blazers big man Zach Collins is out for the season due to ankle surgery, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Blazers are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers 1-1 in the first round of the playoffs.

The Blazers' chances of upsetting the Lakers just took a huge hit. While Zach Collins isn't a star, he's a valuable big man who is a good rebounder and defender for Portland.

During the regular season, Collins was only able to play in 11 games due to shoulder surgery. He averaged 7.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26.4 minutes a night while shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line.
