It has been a wild offseason regarding the status of Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard. Reports have gone around the whole time with trades and things of that nature. Then on Friday, a report came out that Lillard was planning on requesting a trade, followed by another report that Lillard isn't planning on going anywhere.

It's a mess and utterly confusing. However, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports hopped on the Dan Patrick Show and gave some more comments regarding Lillard's future with the Blazers.

Sheesh.

Haynes says Lillard just wants change and doesn't necessarily want to leave Portland. The Blazers star has always backed Portland and loves being there, but eventually, enough will be enough.

It's understandable from Lillard's side to after early playoff exits seemingly year after year and the latest coming at the hands of the Denver Nuggets, a series in which Lillard absolutely balled out and was almost unstoppable.

The situation regarding Lillard is as fluid as ever, and if he does request a trade, dozens of NBA teams will be picking up the phones and offering the Blazers absurd packages to snag one of the best players in the NBA.

Lillard is headed to Tokyo with Team USA to compete in the Olympics, and it is quite possible a trade happens before the start of next season. On the other hand, it seems Lillard just wants change, and perhaps the Blazers front office hears the message and brings in some other talent to please Lillard.

Only time will tell.
