Following the Portland Trail Blazers' decision to trade Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the Los Angeles Clippers, the team looks destined for a rebuild. With the Sacramento Kings among the teams looking to be active at the upcoming February 10 trade deadline, there have been rumors of potential trade talks between the two sides involving the Kings' former lottery pick.

Per Action Network's Matt Moore, the Blazers and Kings held discussions over a possible swap for disgruntled big man Marvin Bagley III.

The Trail Blazers and Kings held talks bout disgruntled young forward Marvin Bagley. Given the multi-season tension with Bagley, he’s another player whom it’s surprising hasn’t been dealt.

Bagley has long been angling for a move away from the Kings, but nothing has materialized involving the former no. 2 overall pick. With the Blazers looking at a rebuild, taking a chance on the out-of-favor 22-year-old could be a worthwhile endeavor.

The former Duke star has struggled to adapt to life with the Kings, and injuries have plagued the start of his NBA career. He's having his worst statistical season to date this season, recording 9.3 points and 7.2 rebounds across a career-low 21.9 minutes per game. Bagley has featured in 30 games this season, making 17 starts, but hasn't played since January 31, as some speculations suggest the Kings are working to offload their failed 2018 investment ahead of the trade deadline.

Perhaps a change of scene is all that Bagley needs to reignite his career, and from the Blazers' perspective, it'd certainly be worth a look at adding him in the midst of what could be a lengthy rebuild.
