Former NBA point guard and dunk contest winner Nate Robinson shared his motivation ahead of his bout with YouTube star Jake Paul, scheduled for Saturday night.

While the fight will serve on the undercard ahead of the main event that will feature a match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr, the bout has drawn attention. Nate Robinson and his peers have mocked Paul for his attempt to compete with professional athletes.
Speaking with “Insider” earlier in the week, Robinson was forthright about what he perceived to be a lack of commitment on the part of Paul.
“He's not taking this seriously and is squandering the opportunity,” Robinson said. “He wasn't saying much at the conference. It doesn't really matter. That's just him not being a professional, acting like Jake Paul. I'm not taking [stuff] personal.”
With the fight not gaining the amount of traction that was once hoped, Nate Robinson has blamed Paul for failing to promote it heavily. Though some of the blame must certainly be assigned to the onset of the pandemic and the inability to host fans inside Staples Center for the event, it's true that Paul has not put forth the effort that he did in his previous bout with fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib earlier this year.
While Paul did make headlines this week, it was not in connection with the upcoming fight. Instead, the social media figure was heavily criticized for his comments during an interview with “The Verge,” in which he called the COVID-19 pandemic a “hoax” and derided “98% of news” as fake.
As Nate Robinson made clear in his tweet, Paul has provided an ample amount of whiteboard material to motivate him.
