On Sunday night, the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers will square off in a rubber match of the three games series. The Dodgers took game one Friday night and the Braves bounced back on Saturday. While addressing the media before the game, Braves closer Kenley Jansen was asked his thoughts on a potential Braves-Dodgers playoff series.

He could not help but marvel at the idea, as captured by The Athletic's Dodgers writer Fabian Ardaya.

““I would love it. It would be a dream come true. Why not? Facing my old teammates, why not? It would be great. It would be a great fight… I think that would be good for baseball.”

The two clubs squared off in the NLCS last season, with the Braves winning the series in six games. Last year though, Jansen was a member of the Dodgers spending his 12th season there. He helped that franchise win their first World Series since 1988 two seasons ago. Meanwhile, longtime Braves slugger Freddie Freeman is now a member of the Dodgers. So, two of the faces of the respective franchises had a facelift this offseason, swapping stars (through free agency).

The Atlanta Braves had a rough start to the season this year, but appear to have turned things around. The defending World Series champions entered play Sunday just five games back of the NL-leading New York Mets in the National League East division.

This season, the Dodgers appear to finally have some competition out west with the San Diego Padres. Neither team will have an easy road to get there. But it certainly is a potential scenario we could see these two storied franchises square off once again when it matters most.
