The 2018 NFL Draft had staggering depth at the quarterback position. Five of the thirteen quarterbacks selected this year were chosen in the first round.

Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Lamar Jackson all have a shot to make an impact on their NFL teams as starters this year. Naturally, one question beckons as the new season starts: which rookie QB will rack up the most wins out of the gate?

Their skillsets and situations may differ, but they all want to make a name for theirselves in this league. They've been waiting their whole lives to get this opportunity, and now is their time to shine. Let's break these rookie signal-callers down.

5. Baker Mayfield

Mayfield was selected with the No. 1 overall pick from Oklahoma by the Cleveland Browns. While Tyrod Taylor has been named the starter, head coach Hue Jackson made it clear he plans on creating opportunities for Mayfield to get on the field and make plays at some point.

Mayfield is only a shade above 6-foot, but he has valuable qualities you look for in a quarterback. He has a quick release and can extend plays by running or moving in the pocket to find receivers downfield.

A lot of the criticism Mayfield receives is about his accuracy. He often threw to wide open receivers in college and needs to prove he can throw into tight spaces against elite defenders. Having proven weapons like Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, and Duke Johnson to catch his passes will relieve some of the pressure.

The Browns have revamped over half of their roster since last season, making them a mystery this year. If Taylor gets injured or doesn't perform in the first half of the season, Mayfield will be able to step in and win some games.

4. Sam Darnold

Darnold is the only member of this rookie group who was been named his team's Week 1 starter. He was selected No. 3 overall by the New York Jets and was widely considered to be the most complete quarterback leading up to the draft.

At 6-foot-3, he has more ideal height than Mayfield, but his greatest strength is his poise in late game situations. He has developed a reputation for remaining calm, cool, and collected in the clutch and throwing accurate passes to put his team in position to win.

Darnold isn't as mobile or athletic as Mayfield and can tend to wait to long for things to develop. While he can make big throws, his most dynamic weapon is Jermaine Kearse, who may be out of commission in their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

Darnold may be New York's quarterback of the future, but the franchise needs to keep building around him before they get too excited.

3. Josh Allen

Josh Allen, Bills

The Buffalo Bills knew they were getting the biggest arm in the draft when they selected Allen with the No. 7 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Allen is the biggest of this year's quarterback prospects, standing at 6-foot-5.

After emailing every FBS head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator in the country, Allen got two responses. He finished one year of junior college and before taking recruiting into his own hands.

Eastern Michigan and Wyoming were the only schools that seemed interested in the tape he emailed out over 1,000 times. He eventually chose Wyoming before exploding onto the national scene.

After Darnold, Allen has the best chance to assert himself as a starter early on. Nathan Peterman is the starter for Week 1, but he has thrown six times as many interceptions as he has touchdowns in his five games of regular season experience.

Allen has a tendency to overthrow his targets at times, but his ability to throw bombs down the field while moving is something no other quarterback in this draft class can match. LeSean McCoy will be a good weapon for him out of the backfield and Kelvin Benjamin has potential to be a solid go-to guy.

Allen's destiny is in his own hands this year. He will be given a chance to earn the top spot at some point this season.

2. Lamar Jackson

Jackson was the last player selected in the first round, picked No. 32 overall by the Baltimore Ravens.

There is a ton of excitement around Jackson's athletic ability in Baltimore. He is considered to be the most underrated quarterback in the draft my many NFL veterans.

Unfortunately, Jackson will probably have the hardest time beating out the incumbent starter to gain first string reps. Joe Flacco has spent 10 seasons playing with the Ravens and has brought them a Super Bowl. He has played all 16 regular season games in every season but one. It is unlikely that the team will sit him down anytime soon.

Jackson may be in a situation like Mayfield, where he can get on the field in wildcat sets or as a dual threat to throw or run in short yardage situations. Baltimore doesn't wow you with offensive weapons, but they are solid on both sides of the ball. Jackson will likely be a key piece in the transformation of the Ravens in a few years.

1. Josh Rosen

This UCLA product was taken No. 10 overall by the Arizona Cardinals. Rosen has the best passing mechanics and ability to hit short and intermediate routes with accuracy. His personality raised some eyebrows leading up to the draft, but he can certainly lead a team.

Rosen tends to hold on to the ball a little too long like Darnold. In the NFL, he'll need to learn to throw the ball away from time to time so he doesn't take too many bruising hits. He has been dealing with a thumb injury in the preseason, but that should clear up soon.

Sam Bradford is the only thing standing in front of Rosen starting right away. Bradford is getting starter money, so it only makes sense for him to be in the lead heading into week 1.

Of course, Bradford hasn't played a complete season since 2012. He's basically Mr. Glass. While there is not a guarantee he will get injured this year, it feels inevitable.

The aging Larry Fitzgerald can still be serviceable for Rosen while David Johnson is one of the most versatile running backs in the league. If Rosen can't score with them, his defense will. The Cardinals have last year's sack leader in Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson as the captain of their secondary.

Rosen will have a great support system behind him if Bradford underperforms or suffers an injury.

Which rookie QB wins the most games?

In my opinion, the candidate who will win the most games as a starter this season is Josh Rosen.

Mayfield's coaching staff will take their time easing him into their system. The Browns will be exciting, but they want to be careful and need more time to mesh as a team. Darnold is ready to play, but he needs more to work with before he becomes competitive.

Allen has a chance to start a lot of games this year, but his success will depend on how much his receivers step up. Jackson has the potential to win games as a starter with their current roster, but it's not his time yet.

Rosen should win the most games due to his well-rounded offense and intimidating defense. Having a complete team should help him grow the most out of these up-and-coming prospects in their rookie campaigns.
