After missing the past two seasons due to recurring injuries, all signs are now pointing to Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid finally making his regular season debut in two weeks.

The team, together with the their head coach, Brett Brown, are looking forward to seeing how the Kansas product will fit in their system. At the same time, the coaching staff is planning to take a cautious approach with Embiid.

The 22-year-old is not expected to play in back-to-back games this season, and now he has a minute restriction in place as well:

The good news for the Sixers is, even if they'll miss this year's top pick, Ben Simmons, for at least three months because of a Jones fracture and Embiid in some games due to his restrictions, they still have depth at the four and five position with Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, Richaun Holmes and Dario Saric all competing for time on the court.

The team has been very patient in waiting until Embiid got back to fully healthy. Now that he is healthy, they want to make sure they preserve him and ease him to the lineup slowly. They have already invested a lot of time in the 7-foot-2 Cameroonian and losing him again is the last thing they want to see.

Ebmiid has already shown glimpses of his potential this preseason and the 76ers hope to see him continue that development throughout this season and beyond.
