Jurrell Casey was named to five consecutive Pro Bowls as a member of the Tennessee Titans. Naturally, Casey was as surprised as anyone when the Titans shipped him to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a seventh-round pick.

Although Casey acknowledged trades are “part of the business” of the NFL, he also said the move has only done more to increase his motivation to wreak havoc in 2020 (via Jon Heath of USA TODAY):

“It made me super motivated,” Casey said during a conference call with reporters on March 19. “You’re always surprised when it happens. It definitely was a shocker, but you know, it is part of the business. Would I say I expected it? No, but did I know it possibly could come? It’s just how business works.

“I’m not a stranger to it. I’ve seen it happen to plenty of guys around the building. I knew it was possibly coming soon. I didn’t think it would come this fast, but it’s all business and business has got to be done.”

Broncos fans will be glad to hear Casey is intent on proving his worth this season.

Denver has made a point of investing in the front four this offseason, re-signing Shelby Harris shortly after acquiring Casey. This gives the Broncos a fearsome foursome of Casey, Harris, and EDGE rushers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb, who missed all but four games last season due to injury.

Casey has been one of the most consistent defensive linemen in football since he came into the league, and he is capable of stuffing the run and getting to the quarterback.

Much of Denver's success will likely be reliant on the development of second-year quarterback Drew Lock, but another strong campaign from Casey would also go a long way.
