The Denver Broncos are off to a strong start to the 2018 season after edging out a pair of wins in the first two week. Undrafted rookie running back Phillip Lindsay has make a tremendous impact out of the backfield.

On Sunday, he became the first undrafted free agent in league history to notch more than 100 scrimmage yards in his first two career games, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

Denver Broncos rookie Phillip Lindsay channeled the Hall of Fame running back through the first two weeks, becoming the first undrafted free agent in NFL history with 100-plus scrimmage yards in each of his first two games.

Lindsay is making the most of his opportunities through the first two games of the year, proving that he can be a significant impact player with the ball in his hands. He is currently third in the league with 178 rushing yards on 29 carries while hauling in three catches for 35 receiving yards.

Lindsay has proven that he can provide a strong 1-2 punch in the Broncos' backfield that also features another talented rookie running back in Royce Freeman, who has 99 rushing yards on 23 carries and a touchdown this season.

However, Lindsay's big-play ability has allowed him to shine more with his opportunities in route to possibly becoming the #1 back. It was originally believed that Freeman had the upper hand for the primary back duties to begin the year, but Lindsay has quickly inserted himself in that conversation behind his steady play. The Broncos should continue splitting the workload between the two rookie running backs.

Lindsay will have another chance to further build on his strong start in Week 3 on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, who suffered a disappointing 34-23 loss last Thursday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
