After being waived by the Cleveland Browns and garnering plenty of interest in free agency, Jarvis Landry may end up returning to the team that let him go. This would come after a few roster-altering moves that have transformed the Browns into legitimate title contenders. With the recent additions of superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson and Pro Bowl wideout Amari Cooper, Cleveland has acquired a couple elite skill players who will elevate their offense in a big way.

Re-signing Landry would only add to their progress and give the Browns a more well-rounded offensive unit that could take the league by storm. With all this in the fold for Cleveland, let's now break down the two reasons why the Browns should bring Landry back for the 2022 NFL season, despite just cutting him not long ago.

Why Browns must back Jarvis Landry

Jarvis Landry gives Cleveland depth at wide receiver

Bringing Landry back to the team and adding him to a receiving corps that currently features Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones would give the Browns quality depth in their passing game, which also utilizes tight end David Njoku. Plus, with Watson's mobility, arm strength, and clutch playmaking abilities, Landry would definitely get plenty of touches and be able to come away with some timely scores for Cleveland.

Given Landry's previous successes in their passing game, this would be a welcome return for the star receiver. Add to that everything he has accomplished and the value he would bring to the Browns, there's no denying that his presence would give the Browns a deep and dynamic aerial assault.

Kevin Stefanski has strong familiarity with Jarvis Landry's skill set

Having spent the past few seasons playing for the Browns, Landry has undoubtedly made his mark in Cleveland and been somebody head coach Kevin Stefanski can count on in pivotal moments. With a changing of the guard at quarterback now officially in play, Stefanski would be able to utilize Landry's versatile skill set to a fuller extent and enable the Browns to run a more dynamic offense. Between Watson, Landry, Cooper, Njoku, and Nick Chubb, the Browns would possess one of the league's most explosive offensive units with the potential to become a top-five scoring team in the NFL.

As they aim to win the AFC North title in 2022 and make a deep postseason run, having a multifaceted playmaker and a known quantity like Landry on their roster would be the ultimate luxury for Stefanski to have. Not to mention Landry would be a perfect fit Stefanski's offensive game plan, putting him in position to have a huge season while playing alongside Watson and Cooper.

All in all, the Browns seem to have a good thing going, so bringing back a familiar face with proven success should be a high priority for them. There's no doubt that Jarvis Landry would be a great fit in Stefanski's fast-paced offense with Watson under center for them, as well as Chubb, Cooper, and Njoku looking to make a major impact from the get-go. If there's a move out there that would add to the Browns' strong offseason thus far, this very well may be it.

It remains to be seen if Landry actually wants to come back after how things played out, but perhaps this new situation convinces him.
