Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has earned a tremendous honor from Pro Football Focus after his excellent rookie season in the NFL.

Mayfield gave the Browns a huge boost after being inserted into the starting lineup early in the season, and that allowed Cleveland to take a huge step forward in finishing 7-8-1 overall after not winning a game last season.

The former Oklahoma star threw for 3,725 yards and 27 touchdowns, which were the most throwing scores by a rookie in NFL history.

And now, he's getting even more praise from Pro Football Focus, who gave him the second highest grade for a rookie quarterback since the grading system began back in 2006.

It became clear from the very beginning that Mayfield was going to be able to provide the Browns with the spark that they needed moving forward. He made a ton of crucial throws that helped Cleveland completely turn things around on offense.

Of course, there was also an improvement on the defensive side of the ball, which allowed Mayfield to be in a good position to succeed.

The Browns will now turn their attention to finding a new head coach after firing Hue Jackson earlier in the season, with plenty of potential candidates already being mentioned.

It's clear that if they want to become a playoff contender, the team's front office must find someone that can continue to help Mayfield develop even further.

With a franchise quarterback like Mayfield in place, it's obvious that the Browns' job is attractive as it has been in a long while.
