With all the drama and excitement of this NFL offseason, the Cleveland Browns' signing of Kareem Hunt has managed to fly a bit under the radar. The Browns have made so many splashy moves, like trading for Odell Beckham Jr., that Hunt has gotten lost in the shuffle a bit.

Throw in the fact that he's suspended for the first half of the season, and it makes sense why he hasn't been talked about much. That changed this week, when Hunt hit the field for the first time as a member of the Browns. He addressed the media for the first time Wednesday, claiming he's a changed man and looking to put the past behind him.

His new quarterback Baker Mayfield had his back when he spoke to reporters Wednesday, per Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

When Mayfield was asked if Hunt is making the most of his opportunity, he replied that “he really is. Good kid. Mistakes happen. Everybody that has been around him knows who he is. I think he was given a second chance and he is taking advantage of it.”

Mayfield said he talked to some of Hunt's former teammates with the Chiefs in Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, and that they had “nothing but a lot of good things to say, and that is important.”

“What guys say about you in the locker room speaks more about you than anything you will do on the field,” Mayfield declared.

Hunt knows he can't afford to mess up again, so he should be on his best behavior. Assuming he can keep everything in order off the field, he should be a valuable contributor for the Browns once he makes his return.
