New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. were recently working out together in preparation for the upcoming season, as seen on social media. The get-together of the two NFL stars then resulted in a bigger reunion off the field.

Beckham Jr. recently uploaded an hour-long video on YouTube which showed his roundtable discussion together with Newton, Todd Gurley, and former NFL player Victor Cruz.

ESPN Cleveland Browns insider Jake Trotter shared some noteworthy excerpts from the discussion on Twitter:

Newton was in full support for the comeback cause of his friend and commented:

Both Newton and Odell Beckham Jr. are coming off disappointing performances last season. The 2015 NFL MVP suffered a foot injury during the Panthers' third preseason game against the New England Patriots which ended his 2019 season. Ironically, he recently just ended his 3-month long free agency drought and signed with the Patriots for a veterans minimum deal.

The three-time Pro Bowler in Beckham Jr. underwent surgery last January 21 to repair a core muscle injury that he had played 16 games with in 2019. His nagging injury kept him from playing his best for the Cleveland Browns, which tallied a subpar 6-10 record last season. He is currently on his way to fully recovering from the injury and nearing full-health conditions.

Although they are in two different circumstances, both players are entering the upcoming season with a chip on their shoulders. They both want to prove to everyone that they were still the same players who ruled the league a few years ago.

Ultimately, they are hungry to bring their respective teams to the playoffs, and eventually contend for the Super Bowl LV in 2020.
