The Cleveland Browns announced on Saturday afternoon that their flight to New Jersey to face the New York Jets on Sunday in the NFL's Week 16 has been delayed and their facility closed as the organization begins contact tracing.
A Browns player's COVID-19 test came back positive today, the team announced, thus putting tomorrow's Jets matchup in jeopardy.
This is what the team had to say:
Earlier today, the Cleveland Browns were informed that a player's test results have come back positive for COVID-19. Our facility is closed and our flight to New Jersey has been delayed while contact tracing is being conducted. The team is holding meetings remotely as we continue to consult with the NFL and medical experts on the appropriate next steps as the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff and the entire community remains our highest priority.

At 10-4, the Browns are a game shy of first place in the AFC North, with the 11-3 Pittsburgh Steelers already clinching a playoff berth. Cleveland can end a postseason drought and reach the playoffs either as a Wild Card team or leap frogging over the Steelers to win the division.

The Browns play the Jets on Sunday—for now—before finishing the regular season in Week 17 against the Steelers, which may very well decide the winner of the AFC North. Pittsburgh already saw one game postponed earlier this season when the Tennessee Titans became the first NFL club with a COVID-19 outbreak.
UPDATE:
The Browns placed linebacker BJ Goodson on the reserve/COVID-19 list, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
