Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Myles Garrett has taken to Twitter to say he was punched by someone who asked him to take a photo.
Garrett notes that a “fan” (which Garrett put in quotes) got out of his car to ask Garrett (who was also in his car) for a picture. Garrett says he rolled the window down enough to get in the photo, which was when the person then hit him.
Garrett, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M, was originally selected by the Browns with the first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Injuries limited him to 11 games during his rookie campaign, when he registered 31 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He then broke out last season, appearing in all 16 contests and racking up 44 tackles, 13.5 sacks and three forced fumbles en route to the Pro Bowl.
Through six games in 2019, the 23-year-old has logged 20 tackles, a league-leading nine sacks and one forced fumble.
Unfortunately for Cleveland, the Browns have not experienced the same success as Garrett has individually this season.
In spite of Super Bowl expectations coming into the year, Cleveland has gone just 2-4 over its first six games, most recently blowing a 20-6 lead in a 32-28 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
What's more, the Browns have yet to win at home this season, as they have gone 0-3 at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Cleveland will now head into a Week 7 bye before having to head to Foxborough to battle the undefeated New England Patriots.
The Browns are two games behind the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North.
